Race Car

Just thought i'd show u the car i'm due to start building so i can go racing. This will be my second attempt at building a car, the first one is a Lotus 7 replica. This car isn't mine as i haven't started mine yet and unlike this one i'm going to modify it to take a Suzuki GSX 1300 R Hayabusa engine.

To start with it'll only have a standard engine due to cost but eventually it'll be bored out to 1500 and turbocharged to 450bhp by holeshot racing. That's 450bhp in a car that ways less than 500kg.

man...isn't that very expenisive? Don't you have to be rich for that? I mean... all that engine and stuff + lot of work. I want to drive such kind of car,too but I do not want to build one. I am too lazy. user added image

Kit Cars are a great way of getting a great car, you can get kits relitively cheap, the only thing is finding a donor car for the engine user added image

Nice car though! *drools*

No, being a race car it'll be very basic to make it as light as possible (450 - 500kg).

No, like Zyk0tiK said kit cars are a great way to get a great car. You have several options depending on your price range.
1: purchase a kit from a kit car company who will supply you with everything apart from engine. Then you assemble it your self using instructions. (about £25,000)
2: Build the whole car yourself by buying all the materials and doing all the cutting and welding yourself. This is what i did for the first and will be doing for this one as it's the cheapest method and the most fun as you can look at the finished car and say you made it. user added image ( about £10,000 - 15,000)
3: The most expensive for those people who can't be bothered to do the work get the kit car company to build the qhole car ready to race. (racing radicals are about £50,000 and pilbeams £120,000)
