Me-262

Just thought I would throw this one out. Got bored with the Spitty so needed something new to model.

Cheers bullet

Hi bullet, this should really be put in the WIP section.

Model looks good. It needs some hard edges though on the wings and such.

Stay away from booleans if you can, as they usually create much more work for you (if they even work at all) Usually it's best to just place an object in the area you want, then do it by hand. It's much easier to control topology-wise that way.

I really dont have trouble with them mate, I use them all the time, usually without too much fuss. Just this particular piece has me stumped, so I will probably have to do it the old way.

If there is a shortcut I will try and use it but this time it aint a workin baby LOL, thanks anyway mate

The area where the ingine cowling goes OVER the top so to speak of the wing. How they did it without computers is amazing, truly they were MASTERS of their craft.

Hi Bullet

Try building the basic wing, then edge loop or manualy cut the top shape of the engine overlap, then extrude or simply push out the shapeof the engine, it only looks complicated AFTER you have done it!

yeh dave, now that would be funny, I think the 262 might have the upper hand, From memory the only plane to have a good crack at them was the Hawker Tempest??

I did it in the end paldav, the boolean wouldnt work initially but what I did was a couple of edge loops, extract the section I wanted then boolean my cylinder onto it. For some reason it wouldnt boolean with the whole wing but I got there. Yeh extruding the jet was my next option but thankfully I didnt have to.

Thanks guys

cheers bullet

BTW paldav that looks bloody good!!!
