Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

nCloth

I've got a ship flag and sails that I wanna animate using nCloth. I did the sails and it all worked fine but then when I made the flag and converted it to nCloth the wind direction and wind speed keep changing to be the same as the sails and when I try and change them it changes the sails as well. Problem since I want them to go in different directions. Am I just being really stupid and doing something simple wrong?

wouldn't you just have one wind direction... isn't there just one wind direction in reality?

anyway i guess if there is not. would the dynamic relationship editor not help. link one wind to the sails and one wind to the flag.

do they share the same nucleus?

If you have 2 wind fields you might want to set the cloth shape up to use only one wind field by using the dynamic realtionship editor.

They were sharing the same nucleus. I didn't realise they automatically got assigned nucleus1 when yuo converted to nCloth. Fixed now. Thanks for the replies
