Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

rigid body simulation

Ok, it seems I've got a lot of problems tonight.

I created a simple rigid body simulation. One active and one passive one gravity field afecting active. But I want to start the simulation at frame 60 not 1. When I keyframe active under rigid body and set it to 0 at frame 59 and 1 at 60 nothing seems to happen. my object does not fall.
There is nothing wrong wit the rigid bodies, since when I remove the keys and start the simulation from frame 1 it works fine.
How can I get this to work, any ideasuser added image

thanks

Ok. I took some screenshots.
The two white boxes in the bottom left corner control the start and stop frame of your animation.

Yey, I'm back with another problem, and I did think more than twice this time.user added image

The rigid body I have needs to follow the position of a plane (lets call it "myPlane") while being dynamic at the same time. So I thought I'll group it ( and "myGroup"), parent myGroup under myplane and it should follow, plus still carry out it's simulation.
But it doesn't myPlane moves while my rigid body stays put. The wired thing is when I check the position of myGroup, after a couple of frames, it did follow MyPlane. And when I stop the simulation and drag myGroup with the move tool the rigid body follows.
Doing it with active and passive keys won't work either because I don't want to switch the simulation off.
Is there any way I can make my simulation follow myPlane?

any help is much apreciated

thanks
