Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

My first Maya project

Hey all. This is my first maya project Ive done. Just finished a class and also learned by searching forums and reading thru books. Alot of you guys have been very helpful! This was modeled after a wind-up toy (its about 99% accurate as I did it all by eye) using Maya 8.5. Any suggestions on what to change to make a better render would be great! It was rendered out using the Maya Software. Thanks!

btw, the floor and wall textures were just grabbed from google images so not much effort was put into those, I plan on fixing those up.

Hi mobkon!

Nice job for it being your first model. Text, geometry, lighting, texturing, and rendering. For a first project, I think you did really good plus it gave you some experience in several different areas of Maya.

Yes indeed, very nice for your first maya project, that looks a hell of a lot better than mine one TBH lol...

Only crit is that as youved mentioned about the textures, they could be abit better ... but other than that, job well done!
