Got it! Now what?

 HI, my name is Gary and I have finally recieved my copy of Maya 4.5 Learning Edition. My question is what next? Is it better to read books or to look at videos. I am not close enough to any 3d schools and I do not know if I can trust some of the online classes on the web. Any suggestions?

Thanks

you should really buy a book too. I can recommend Maya 4.5 Savvy.
It's not complete though, no stuff on cloth or Live, but once you think about starting with that, you should be quite good with the other stuff that IS in the book.

edit: make sure to check out *********************************/digita...maya/index.htm
they also have some nice videos to get you started. Just like this site does.
