Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

XWing Fighter

I thought I'd try modelling a Star Wars XWing fighter for a bit of fun practise. I bet this is a popular choice of model, and I'm probably not the first to attempt ituser added image

Anyway, here's how it is now after 2 long sesions.

That model looks very sweet. I would also like to see it textured and animated.

Thanks for your encouraging comments guys. And that is certainly a cool Tie Interceptor ctbramuser added image

Im a bit of a novice with texturing, although i have animated the wings moving to attack position - easier than I thought it would be - Maya certainly is a cool program.

Hey Good models,

Only two comments on the X wing, it seems there are too many edges toward the rear, just below the cockpit area and the rear engine details are more cog like. Have attached some original X Wing pics for you. I'm a biiiiig Star Wars fan so things like this will always stand out to me. Hope the reference helps anyway.

Been a bit busy with the mech tut so I havent done much to this. I added some of the cog-like detail to the laser cannons and cleaned up the area surrounding the cockpit.
