Uv unfolding is not working.

I'm at my wit's end here...
I've tried the entire day to make the uv unfold in the uv texture editor work in maya.
But everytime I try the uv don't unfold at all. Not even a tiny bit...

Do anyone know what can cause that?
This has never happend before...

(edit) It seems to be able to unfold on the neck.
But the head... No way...

(edit2)
He unfolds after I converted the model to smooth.
But now the poly count is so high.... -_-

Yes topology is a little bit of mess.

But why post images of the model not the uv problem. When your unfolding are you doing it in both axes, if so i find doing one at a time helps.

usually if the mesh is not quite right or untidy, the uv unfold will not work as it gets confused...

also check history as well, Mays uv tools hates things with history
