Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Exporting UV data from Maya

Hi,

I am migrating development from Lightwave 9.6 to Maya 2014. This requires I port a file exporter plugin designed for lightwave to support Maya. For the most part this has gone well, I am able to export meshes, textures etc.

I am having problems matching UV data. Take a cube as an example:

Lightwave has clockwise vertex winding, maya is counter clockwise. Also notice the co-ordinate axis x component is inverted.

Can anybody tell me if there is anything fundamentally wrong in the way Maya is setup to support uv mapping correctly.

Thanks for any help and advice you can provide.
