Beer glass scene creation
This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

How to use image sequences as textures in Maya 2017?

I'm unable to find the checkbox that allowed you to use image sequences in order to make animated textures, since it no longer appears to be in the same place as it was in Maya 2016. I'm only able to find a similar box when I import an image to use as an image plane, but I don't want that. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not really sure how to check which version (I just downloaded it three days ago if that helps)
However, has the criteria for the image file names changed? Looking at your screenshot, the image names look different than mine. Mine are named: imagename.00.tga
Could that be affecting this?

Version number can be found under "Help>About Maya"

No the way you named it is fine.
I just checked and I am getting the option to use image seq even with a single image.

I have just noticed that I don`t get that option if I am using the new "hypershade" - the option is only coming up in the "Attribute Editor".

And this is ture for 2016.5 as well as 2017.

Hope it helps - see image again

Ah, I found it now. I was looking under Attribute Editor, but didn't click on the file node under Color. Thanks a lot!
