Man, you're really doing this the hard way. If you use bevelplus (in the surfaces menu) on your curves, you'll create the type of bevel AND your surface and can output as nurbs or poly. Do a search on BevelPlus in the manual and take a look.

what version of maya is that?.. got 4.0 you know.. can't find it.. but there must be a plug-in that's equal?

I believe it was integrated into 4.5 and beyond. You should be able to still find the plugin for 4.0 at alias' site or highend3d.com. You could also do a google search.

ah, yeah, bevel plus was what I was referring to before. Didn't realize you were using 4.
