This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Simple cartoon bush

Hey guys im trying to model a cartoon bush to fit my theme of my neighborhood im modelling and i was wondering if anyone has any simple tutorial? heres the picture i want it to fit the theme with

and also, im new to Maya and was wondering how I can give my models a more of a clay-type look without all the alias scratchy lines, kinda like this picture

You could start with a cube, smooth that once and then sculpt it, smooth it again and keep sculpting.

I would go along with what Genny said. look into global elumination or final gather theres a free tut on this site for FG............dave

Thats really done by the outer rim light on the tree and also using maya sun sky.

theres a tutorial online for the rim light - you tube I think.
