Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Something with normals ???

I have designed a landscape with paint-effects, but I cannot seem to make the paintable flowers stay upwards, they only paint downwards.

This is a nurbs surface.

How do i fix this, beside making the terrain again. Is it possible to change the vector of the normal(s) ?

The normal icon shows a skewed vector, pretty much downwards.

But i dont know how to fix this. Can anybody help me out here?

There's a couple of things you can do, open the Edit Template settings and look for Tubes, then Creation, in there you will find a box that switches between Following Normals and Following Path, try working with Following Path, just make sure you are in the perspective view and painting more upward as it will follow your stroke.

If your normals are pointed down, the easiest thing to do is flip your landscape over user added image

if you don't want to flip your surface, you can Reverse Surface Direction in either the U or V direction. This will reverse the normals of the surface.
