Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Yes, it does look like you were a little 'extrude happy'. But still, it seems very interesting. Keep it up. :attn:

Take a look at some cathedral pics online. My first comment is the columns are too uniform in shape.. Alot of columns will have different looking bases and such as opposed to the same extruded shape along the whole thing.

The looks of your rafters on the top, has some nice potential.

keep it up

Hmm, is that just a 2d texture or what? Also, it would look nice if you had some bump maps on in, or uped the ones that you already put on the pillars.

Edit: Actually, in your first pic, it seemed like you had some VERY strong bumpmaps. Maybe fix it up a little, seemed very.........................."poky outy", but still smooth at the bumps. Sorry, really tired right now. ALso, I agree with the uniformity of the pillars. Maybe not model to differently (maybe just a little), but have most of the difference in the bump maps.

Cool draw bridge.

Can you sharpen up the renders? What render globals quality setting are you using?

The front of the castle is looking good. It looks strong and bult well. I think that the chain links are a little to big. I do whoever like the planks on the bridge and the gaps between them. That is a nice touch of detail.
