Maximum No of Lights

Ok i have a maximum no of light at 7,, the manuels say that its a according to your graphics card.. Ok,, is there anyway to overcome this issue on the mac? with Maya 6.5

Or should i just go over and use the Windows... which kills me everytime.... Urrrghh!!!

When i render with more that 7 seven lights will i see the lighting of the 8th light?

How do the lighters do this?? I begin to wonder?

Anyone out there knows this?

Best way is try it and see if the manuel is correct . . . . they are not always accurate . . .

If you want to make sure each light is doing its thing, create a string of lights in a straight line, line up a box with each one and render it out to see if there is a shadow for each box . . . .

i had some problem when i was trying out a fake GI type lighting. I duplicated point lights and got stuck at 7. Then i read the document on Maya and it said the value depends on your graphics card...

I will try out what you have said,

But anyone else wants to give me some hints on lighting,, or point me in a direction of tips and workarounds.
