I don't really know what the hell it is either, but it was fun to model. Hope to add some textures and some glow to the inner area.

I like the 1st one better. One thing tho. You should smooth out the outter socket area where the little wing thingis attach to the main part.

Kinda like the faceted sockets myself. don't want to make it too streamline, thanks for suggestion though.
