Yes, I will probably be making small modifications here and there but for the most part I think it is pretty much finished, and thank you, I'm pleased that you like it. I can't wait to see everyone's finished products. Good luck with your modeling, texturing, lighting, etc.

GREAT floor and wall dude....like it a lot. Robo is cool, the hand controllers are too colinear for me...I would break them up a tad and have opposing angles or something. Just a personal thing...lose the watermark mate..it really does distract from the good work you have done.

cheers bullet

Update on current toy project

Hey everyone, I've made some modifications on my Nintendo scene. First, I scaled down Rob Robot because he was a tad too big, now I think he is accurate to the original in scale. Next, I rotated the first controller and gave it a more natural look (resting on top of its own cord) that one would expect to see if it was thoughtlessly set down by a player. And lastly, I removed the watermark I originally placed in the middle of the image. Thank you Bullet1968 for your feedback and suggestions. Also thank you to all who have made suggestions and comments on my work.user added image

No, unfortunately I got the Nintendo system that came out with Duck Hunt and Super Mario Bros. in the year 1988. At that point they were no longer including the original R.O.B. robot, only the gun, two controllers, and the games were included in the set. However, even though it only worked with a few games in Nintendo's extensive library I still wanted it and almost bought one in '92' at a pawn shop for twenty dollars. I just thought that was too much money for it back then, also it was missing some pieces that were vital for its functionality.

My favorite toy challenge

I decided to post a few close up shots on my objects so everyone can see the details in each. The way I am rendering everything as a whole makes it kind of difficult to see all those tiny but important details that I put into my work.

Also, some have mentioned some great suggestions and I thank each and everyone of you for that. Some have asked if I am going to add other objects to my scene. I have decided against adding more objects because I do not want to distract people from the main focus of my scene. I am afraid that if I add too many objects it may become difficult for the viewer to determine what is supposed to be important (the Nintendo/Rob/controllers), so I am keeping it subtle.

P.S. Stay tuned for one final render I will be submitting before the deadline.

Thanks,

Chris

Couple things that I noticed, especially now I see the close ups.

Controller -
look at the references - the white square around the AB buttons are rounded. Round that off.
The words on your model is way too small. As well as the buttons. If you want to be exact, the controller is pretty much off. There's lots of references, just put your mesh on top of it and start from there. It may be too much to start over again, but you can fool us by just making the arrow buttons bigger, the buttons bigger, and the font for "Nintendo" bigger. Should look better.

Good luck!!
