This course will look at the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. We'll look at what makes a good model in Maya and why objects are modeled in the way they are.

I hope you didnt do each single key seperately mate???!!!! bloody hell if you did LOL!! Nah it doesnt look too bad and there are so many different keyboards on the market...so it would be hard to tell which one it was really. Keep goin!

this is my quick 20 min job...hopefully you can see the key shape??? sorry if its crappy but it was 0530 and I was also trying to get out the door to go to work.

and wires, see what I mean about the smoother edges. I know tower keyboards are different to Lappy ones...as yours looks like my old towers pad..it is old..bahahaha

Thanks for the reply Bullet user added image im going to rework on keyboard today I didnt really spend anytime on my keys lol just made one and duplicate special and rescale to fit user added image I see where your coming from with your wires I will do some tweaking user added image Cheers

aaaahhhhh you use duplicate special with amount of copies??? ok..I usually make 1...copy once and move to position..then 'shift D' and make as many as I want by hand...same..same I suppose.

I just did the first row with 12 duplicated then just normal Ctrl D for the other bits user added image just wanted the correct spacing but your ways just as good user added image Just in the mids of changing all my keys user added image ill post wires in abit.

Heres the updated keybaord, There is a crease on the rest but i can seem to get rid of it :S it seems smooth

did you mean this crease??? go back to low poly...check no unmerged verts or anything silly. Sometime when I get this...I delte the faces 1 by 1 and either fill hole or append poly tool mate...could be something simple

Yeah that's the crease didn't notice it till I rendered it lol ive fixed it now user added image good job i keep a copy of my base mesh hehe user added image Here is the new render, im going to move on now to much time on this but im pleased with the outcome user added image

looks ok from the distance.........bahahahaha

I find if something is difficult or not working...switch to another model completely or have a coffee break mate. Otherwise you tend to bog down in it,,so you are doing the right thing I see.

Update user added image Printer, will probs work on my sub woofer next, will start a remodel of my mouse after user added image leaving my base unit till last because its going to be tricky lol its got horns, Lol Btw this is all to scale user added image
