Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

hi there,

we are rendering a character with fur but sometimes maya does not render the frame, it gives us a message:

what is this all about? this is annoying and it eats up our time in rendering the animation, some frames are rendered and some frames are not.

any help is highly appreciated.

The last thing said:

Maya Fur Renderer [buildShadowMap failed]

so, judging from that, I would say it doesnt have to do anything with your fur, but something is wrong with the lighting? do you have too many lights on the fur? how are you setting the lighting up?
