particles in a "box"

hello. i need an advice how to make following set up:
i need a fix amount of particles, which should randomly fly around in a specified volume and not change their velocity when bouncing off the volume surface. i tried to play with static object properties, but it doesn't work, since there is always a change in the particle speed.
