This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

ocean animation

I dont know if we can post animations but here is a link to one I have made in maya. 20 seconds of water surface moving with the settings that comes in Getting Started. I put the camera and the path.

Sure you can post animations... though it might be simpler to post them on YouTube or something and then link to that, rather than a direct download. You'll probably get more views and feedback that way.

Water looks pretty nifty, although like you said, it was probably just a matter of fluids > ocean > create ocean, right?
