Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

It will just take the next available alphabetical letter. (although I think that Windows defaults to C for the primary hard drive and misses B out unless theres 2 floppys.

eg

A = Floppy

B = Floppy

C = Primary HDD

D = CD 1

E = CD 2

F = CD 3

G = CD4

H = Slave HDD

Although on installation I think that you can specify the letter but I cant quite remember.

I've always wondered what windows would do if it ran out of letters for drives??

its not too hard to fit in that many drives, if you have the right case

Please be aware if you are running Windows then you can change your drive letters assigned to each device. I recommend that you don't change the drive letter where the OS is as it will cause problems, but every other drive can be assigned any available letter from D - Z
