Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

a boat

the most boring title I can think of for reasons best unsaid.

this is a change for me, I am going to do something instead of an experiment. It will be slow going until uni is over.

anyway, I might have to start again, the front looks all werid, i dont think I did that part properly, or came back after the fact to fix it and made it worse.

ha ha - yeah, i've done that a few times. At least with maya you can go back to a previous version. with painting or drawing you 're screwed!

Nice start mirek. will be good to see this on some water.

hi Arron, yes that's the plan, as much realism as possible in the hope of sitting it on soft boddies, i think that would be the easiest and maybe the beginning of a show reel.

I seem to be getting a lot of unpaid student work, mainly for the masters degree people and it might lead somewhere in a couple of years. I have just finished a pile of dead birds for a doco about extinction and now I am starting on one about chromosomes.

In the mean time, until uni is over, its (uni) is doing my head in so the boat ill be slow going for a few weeks, but again, yes, it will be on water, that was the inspiration. I think Maya does water very well.

dum-di-dum.., well after 10 days of 9pm to 4am doing sound post I feel just great (???) and roaring to go, or should I say, 'aye me 'eartys, I'm ready to set sail, throw the ropes, take to the bow, walk the plank and off with 'is 'ead..,'

anyway, before i do I need to know, i was going to delete this whole scene, it doesn't take too long to do is why, I'm thinking maybe it would be quicker to start from the beginning than trying to fix this strange fold in the bow (thats pirate talk for 'the front of the boat')

so can someone (Kurt you there?) please tell;; me if this is fixable or should I just delete it and start again. I don't mind either way but I'm sick of throwing out the baby with the bath water, its a bad habit.

without further ado...
, notice the red arrows..,
