Default New to Maya - Join a Challenge!

Hi there!

At SimplyMaya we organize different challenges that we encourage new users to take part in to learn more about Maya and get feedback from other members on your work. The challenges are on various topics and you don't need to be an expert to join, it's more about giving it a go and pushing yourself to do something new.

The Random Squid Challenge

Start your own WIP in the challenge and view the work of other people participating

View Previous Challenges

This competition is hosted by Dom who's a lighting artist at MPC, so it's a good chance to get critique on your work from him and the other experienced Maya users that frequent this site. We're a friendly bunch so if you're up for a new project, join us! You might win the prize this month

It is how I learnt so much when it came to Maya. I try and enter every month and at its lowest point it keep my skills sharp but more than often I learn something new. And unlike other CG sites noobs or super welcome and have often done quite well here. Dango77 came 3rd and 2nd in his first 2 challenges and he will be the first to tell anyone just how much he got from just taking part.

Come on in and join in the fun...

All my images are in HD - Plz right click and view image.

cool beans
-Energy? Like electric, solar... what?
-No Randle, just. pure. energy.
-Odd? Odd is Benjamin Franklin playing tether ball with Van Helsing. Odd is a big toad tadpole taken by the tides of a nonsense mess. Odd is a 40 year old senior officer crying himself to sleep every night, dreaming of a life on the road traveling naked catortionist never returning home and stopping his stride!!!

Anyone up for a muscle car challenge? Maybe just the basics i.e. Mustang, Chevelle, GTO, Charger. Any suggestions? Or is this not allowed?
