hair tuts

well as if the title didnt give it away im looking for a tut to learn how to use hair and put it on objects if anyone could point me in the right direction or if theres one on this site i would greatly appreciate it.

well found one for some basics which is what i was looking for, and did a test play and the hair keeps trying to stick straight up from the head anyone know what i need to do, or have had a similar problem?
