Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

ajj241: Hey, thanks. You're right about the neck, but I'm not finished on that yet, there's more detail to go in there, and he will be wearing a suit and tie which will cover alot of that area

marlonjohn: Cheers, I've been using maya for about 5 or six years now, although I'm new to ZBrush.

DAMN!

Nice job mate - I love the crowsfeet around the eyes. ZBrush must really agree with you user added image

I only notice 1 small thing, the skin inside the nostrils seems a little bright? (or maybe you plan to grow some hair there user added image )

Hey,

tiddles: Thanks. Yeah, I need to tweak to SSS map, it's bleeding through a little too far, but the lighting isn't final yet anyway, got to do spec maps, and hair eyebrows and so on before I worry too much about that.

Hi Eldwick,

Er, not really, just self-taught trial and error kind of method.

The skin was created within Zbrush using a various skin samples I have. the bump was made using the BumpViewer Material in Zbrush, and then all rendered in Maya Software Renderer using DT3D SSS shader.

Glad it's appreciated as it's my second go at a human head, and the first one isn't finished and I will be giving it a revamp with the experience gained from creating this character.

oh wow - very cool GioChrono! user added image

I was just wondering - are you going to add some of that greasy hair and moustache that you have going on in the drawing? I like how he is bald, but it might be good to see how it looks.

ha ha Eldwick - a crud! - don't be so hard on yourself mate.

Hi all

arran: Thanks. As I mentioned in earlier in this post, I'm just starting to use Shave And A Haircut to create the hair for the character, never used it before, but then I hadn't used ZBrush before this character either.
I'm working on the beard at the moment, will post something when I think it's worth showing anyone.
