Trojan.ByteVerify
Has anyone seen this or gotten it recently. And if so, have you had any luck removing it?
Seems I followed a bad link and was handed the trojan. Now, whenever I reboot, or sometimes just for the hell of it, I get a bunch of porn links in my favorites forlder and my homepage resets to some search page. HELP!
I've tried everything that Symantec suggests I do to remove it but with no luck. Two main files that keep appearing are counter[1].jar and VerifierBug.class. These normally show up in the C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Local Settings/Temporary Internet Files/Content.IE5/*folder*. It's obviously set itself a nice cozy place in my boot sector, cause it happens especially when I reboot. Its not being malicious, however, the wife is a bit peeved at me for the pr0n links. :p
Anyone got any ideas?
