Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Booleans Don't work... please help!!

I'm trying to make a brake caliper and i want to cut out a small place for the disk, but when i click the boolean, it disappears. I tired everything, but the object looks perfect.:headbang:

If someone could help that would be much appreciated! :attn:

Hey,

With your polygon selected ("pasted_polysurface1") go to Polygons---> Cleanup Options. Reset settings. Now check "Nonmanifold Geometry", and then press Cleanup. Try your boolean operations now. That should work.

Running into the same problem where it disappears, and the cleanup does not work either.

check your normals, if they're not pointing the same direction, the booleans will fail.
