UV's

Hi guys,

What is the application of "UVLayout by Headus" do I still need to us it for mudbox 2012 ? Currently using Mudbox and Maya 2011.

I just see a lot of TUTs regarding UV's uses UVLayout by Headus.

It just lays out your UV's in a quicker manner, you still need to decide where the seems should be etc. as far as using it for mudbox...if I understand the question correctly, yes you do, I believe mudbox still uses the UV's for the normal map and without the UV's laid out the normal maps wont work properly.

Hi,

Headus is an external application for creating UVs. You could use it but don't need too, I find Maya's UV tools to be fine.

Lot's of tuts on the net about UVs (just search youtube). I'm not sure if Mudbox has an option to create UVs, but even if it does I don't think it would have the amount of control you would like. It is always good to have well layout UVs before you start with a scuplting package.
