Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

My first posted work "Racer Pod (speeder)"

Well this is my first finished work to post and my most recent work too. This is a Racer pod, this shape is what i call the speeder class there are two other know as the dragster and the capsule but i haven't modeled any yet. This is a picture of it on display. polygonal modelling on maya.

and another scene of the speeder flying on Ice, but i want the ship to look dirty and i dunno how, if someone can help me i'd be grateful.

oh, and you would have to texture the dirt in, then make a spec map, and make the dirt dull,

um i tried the spec map didnt work

can u be more precise what i did was map the specular colour is that rightuser added image

edit the texture in photoshop(if ya have it) convert to grayscale, then you make the whole pod white except for the dirt part, make that black, it should make the dirt dull, i suggest making the texture on a phong or blinn, map it in the specular color option, hope that helped
