Another bmw...

well.....I saw all this GREAT work on the cars recently and got inspired..

I have always put off making a car because it scared the hell out of me...I find modelling difficult..

But i thought I would start and try with the little time I have these days....So i used Kurts tut...

I didnt put any progress pics up as I started because it really isnt that great...but what the hey!!...this is a great community and I will show my first try to date...

still alot of work and tweaking to do...

Well...A little more work in the little time I have....Wheels are looking better..

I will make proper bmw wheels when I have more time...
Just a few things left to tweak properly (headlights, panel work, seats, tires too thin, etc.)

But I thought I would post the latest render...

hey traindog that has come along nicely

i take it ur using polys an sub divs
im making this (z4) out of nurbs an i know what a pain it is to get all the part for this car too look nice

good to see u made a interior - im too lazy so i just made the roof lol

it is looking nice - however i think that were the front render an wheel arc is u have that join of seperate geometry an i think its a little too thick for me
also at the fog lights

also the front end from those angle look as if its goin forward as it goes down but i dont know if this is just a camera angle thing

r u goin to make the lights?

keep posting an can u post up a side view plz

keep it up

pbman, Thanks so much for your comments and help...

yeah, this is from polys and sub divs...I really want to try your nurbs style next..It looks like it will be much neater...i saw your great work and it kept me wanting to work on this...

I really agree with you on those panel parts...I will fix it up some more and try to get a cleaner sharper edge...

I am not sure how to really go about making the lights yet..So i am leaving them until last..

I think that unclean panel work was from being lazy too!! haha

Another post coming soon...

Thanks NeoStrider,

actually I made that site in my "spare time"...
I studied multimedia at University and thats when i started doing websites. And also that when i fell in love whith 3d art.
But we learnt 3d max at that time..so after 2 years of 3d max I made the switch to Maya....

I made this car so I could learn...I will be making a new concept car for this website HERE
I am also the creator and media director for this website too...

(there is a free members section where most of the content is)

Thanks
