Maya 2020 fundamentals - modelling the real world
Get halfway through a model and find it's an unworkable mess? Can't add edge loops where you need them? Can't subdivide a mesh properly? If any of this sounds familiar check this course out.

Starjsjswars(under attack)

I will be facing daverave as a fun learning challenge for the both of us.

The rules are,

deadline July 20th
Objective create a missile\torpedo to blow a car, spaceship, boat, sub, airplane, etc.. up with maya
Texturing outside maya is allowed
There will be a poll to determine the winner

I'll post my work once I get some time to start this project this week.

I'm really looking forward to this.

Haha, I just got alittle base going, heres what I got, I'm making some sort of fighter. I'm going to be using different model planes as references, not going to model a actual real plane but a combination of them.

Thanks, got some more done, I'm really not going for realistic as far as the style goes. Here is what I did, I'll post more tomorrow. I'm still not sure if I'm going to end up with this style, just getting some ideas out there for my self.

Thanks for the feedback

Thanks.

I think I might end up just modeling the MIG-29 Fulcrum. I think it looks the sweetest of all the other planes that I've come across that have somewhat high res blue prints.

I'll post some more progress tomorrow or the following day.

Hi Bullet
Yes thats the one for 1960 it was way ahead of its time, might not look as mean as a MIG-29 Fulcrum but it looks cool to me.........dave

Yeh I read a little on it..seems the Americans pushed throught the F-111 but they made the Tornado instead (which is a great plane). The Aussies took the 'Warpig' (F-111) and some are still in service...they are the meanest looking of the swing wings..take a look at the Su-24 (Fencer I think),,its almost a replica of the F-111 but has a 'Foxbat' kind of shape.

The Su-37 is the plane though,,grab a look at what it can do in flight on youtube...bloody amazing plane

cheers bullet
