Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

just another girl??

this is my latest model based on a studio max joan of arc tut, but i used maya 4.5.

dont think ill go with the joan of arc feel mabey some si-fi styled girl mabey???? any ideas where to take this from here ???

Looks great. Only thing I see is your horizontal edge loops on her behind look a little to square. I’m pointing this out because I think the back end is very nice and I’d like to see it in its best form.. LOL

Ide say the sword looks incredibly dull... but might look sharper depending on the texture.

And i like the scifi look(mostly the hair)

And i agree the ass looks a little large to begin with, and boxy, but if that floats your boat...

Might i suggest you create a stereotypical alien for her to combat?

lastest render think i fixed the butt, but the cloth thing covers that area anyway, please keep the comments coming and twisteddragon33 i was thinking a fight with a demon type beast ill post a sketch soon .

A little hard to tell how fixed it is, the shot is from a difrent angle now..

thanks for all the great comments

any more ideas on where to take it from hear not really gonna model much more on her, tho the tut keeps going with more clothing user added image, and yes the tut is over at 3d total made for max but you can adapt most things to maya !

here is the last render ive done, really only updating the hair.
anyways anymore comments would be great

yah here is a wire:

and as for making the thigh armour you just select all the faces above the knee to as high as you want the armor to go then duplicate the faces and scale them up a little bit, cut a edge loop close to the top and bottom of the armour and extrude these new faces to make the lip at the top and bottom. also added some detail shown below by using split poly and just moving edges inwards
