sub d help

hey guys!!!

i am havin some serious trouble with sub ds
i make an object in polys an wen i combine two poly objects an merge verts so they r one object complete (i can tell as i am using border edges an my vert value is set HIGH)
fine but wen i convert to sub it can an says to clean up non manifold geometry so i do but this then um berges some verts so it is no longer a 'complete' objects so wen u convert u get those oval patches
y is this?
i have done thisoperation soooo many times before an not had this problem

also if i convert to sub d an i do undo (via keyboard) it goes to poly an keeps the sub d cage if i click conver to poly it is fine
but in yongs of doin it i have never happed before
ne 1 know y this is?

ps im usin v7

thx for the replies guys

can you post the file ? sounds like something not connected with vertices ..or there is double faces ..if you go to vertical faces do you see more than one ?
