Need help with Mouse in MaYA

Just started using Maya 5.0 personal learning edition. I have an IMac using 2 button Pro Mouse. When using Nurbs, after creating a Sphere unable to create Isoparms. Having problems just selecting isoparms. And when using right or left click never gets the sub menus Have tried using preferences then adding insert isoparms to shelf and also created hotkey, still not working this the last step I should be able to create my first model. Please help.

hmm. not sure. have you tried deleting your preferences folder? why are you using such an old copy of maya - surely you can download a newer version?
