Maya Tool Weird Graphics

Sometimes when I use certain tools like rotate or extrude these weird shapes appear on top of the manipulators and I can't see anything. I'm using Maya 2008 on XP. Any ideas?

After reinstalling the drivers the problem was gone. The color thing was something I was messin around with. I'll probably go back to blue or something.
