Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

I Feel Like a Traitor

I downloaded the 3ds Max Trial this morning. And to add on to the horror, I actually like it. Of course, its not Maya, but its pretty cool. I just don't like the Extrude Edge thing, its crap compared to Maya's Extrude Edge. Well... it seems a lot harder then Maya to learn. Do we have any Maya/Max users here that would like to give me some tips I would much appreciate it user added image

Have you checked out the Simplymax site to see if they have any free tutorials to get you started? If not it could be worth a look.

Very interesting... This is the main thing I have against Maya's Polygon editing tools...it's rather slow to keep using this tool instead of a simple Shift+drag (along with the absence of basic edge loop tools - but those are available through scripts). Anyway, I'm a Max user trying to learn Maya. If you're looking for specific sites with tutorials, I'd goto (though you probably already have)

www.3dtotal.com - and goto Free Stuff -> Tutorials -> max
www.3d-palace.com - and register and goto free tutorials and download some tutorials (this community is pretty good for max users)
www.3dlinks.com - and just do a search for some tutorials
and there are others, but these are the main ones that are of great immediate use, I think.

But I've seen you on CGTalk, just head over to the Max forums-> Tutorials forum

if you have any specific questions feel free to ask me.
