This course contains a little bit of everything with modeling, UVing, texturing and dynamics in Maya, as well as compositing multilayered EXR's in Photoshop.

.max importer

OK, this is getting crazy. Where can I find a site with nice little file importers for Maya, 'specially one for .max files?

Well .. if you have 3ds max, might want to check upon export settings ... right?

Last I checked, 3dSMax was what, $500 or more? Heh, Maya is enough as it is.

the best way move scenes from maya2max or max2maya. Is in my experience to use polytrans from okino , unfortunately is polytrans is not a free plugin, but I believe that there is a demo version too.

Yeah.. 3dsimport would be awsome is it was also called 3dsexport. =]

The polytrans looks great, but I barely have the money to pay for food, much less spend hundreds on something so simple like that. =|

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

your all doing it wrong, the 3ds importer is crap

ok maybe not crap but there is an easyer/better way...

goto https://www.habware.at/duck4.htm
and dl the obj exporter/importer for max and use that to export you models to and from max/maya..

it also has the added bonus of keeping you mesh quaded and not converting to triangles like the 3ds importer...but you do need max though user added image

orrrrrr...

you can use the FBX plugin from here..i think its able to import max files direct..

https://www.kaydara.com/customer_serv...lename=plugins

it able to export/import textures and well as basic animation..which the obj exporter cant do.
