Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Moving UVs

Hi there,
Could anyone help me please? I modelled a signpost and made a UV map, then painted a texture on top. When I applied the texture to the model some areas were a bit stretched, so my friend said I should move the UVs on the map a bit.

Trouble is, I went back to the UV texture editor and when I select the edges to move them, the move gizmo didn't appear, even when I pressed "R" or pressed the move tool in the main window.

Am I missing something obvious or is it Maya playing up?

Thanks

I might be wrong, but I think that you can only move the UVs, not the edges.
Hope this helps. user added image

Becky , right click on your object and select UV and then you should get your move tool up when you press R.
