Introduction to Maya - Rendering in Arnold
This course will look at the fundamentals of rendering in Arnold. We'll go through the different light types available, cameras, shaders, Arnold's render settings and finally how to split an image into render passes (AOV's), before we then reassemble it i

Mythological Gods - Wchamlet - noobie

I choose Pepsi. Oh wait, it's a Mythological god! D'oh

ummm.... I dunno. I originally wanted to do Hades, but he's too TRENDY®, so I won't be modeling him. But, imagine how his woman, Persephone would look. Hmmm... interesting.

I'd also like to do Mercury, but do something really different with him. Like make him a transformer or something. More than meets the eye kinda thing. But I still don't know about it.

Tomorrow, I will have made my decision on one of these two. I should have a sketch/concept up of it tomorrow as well.

Good luck to all, and let's see some geometry!!!

Nice idea.
Have you got a concept sketch yet?

Not yet. I had to work late last night, and didn't get a chance to get any sketches done. I'm going to be doing Persephone for sure though. Watch out for the concepts soon.

Small design. Since I'm still learning modeling, I figured it would be best for me if I just focused on anatomy. I'm planning to make her small. I see her being a teenager, so I will model her according to that. I don't know if I'll finish before the end of the month though! LOL

That's a very nice sketch and concept. I do think, however that Persy would either wear slightly more or slightly less clothing (translation - show us all or nothing).

Depending on the amount of time I have left to work on this, I will try to add more ornate jewelry to her dress. I still would like to keep it simple, and I don't really want her to be nude.

Basically that's a loose concept up there anyway. I'm pretty sure I will deviate from it a little, if not a lot.

Thanks for the comments, and I hope to get to the model again soon. I've already got her legs and arms done. Next is the body, hands and feet. I've never modeled feet before so this should prove interesting. user added image

Hey wchamlet! This is great! One problem though, you better get cracking if you want to finish for your final render :O. You still around? But yea, you have just under a week to get this complete, lets see some updates user added image.

Sometime people have the best intentions, but sometimes those intentions don't really come about. I haven't had much time this month to work on this project. Sadly, though, because I feel it's going nicely. Maybe I'll finish it someday, or abandon it to oblivion like everything else I've done.

Thanks for the complements, and good luck to all the others!
