A simple newbie question

I have a simple newbie question, that most of you should be able to answer.

How do i get the XYZ axis closer to the model/object am creating?
It gets pretty far away sometimes.
I have attached a screenshot so you will know exactly what i mean.

Hi, select the object in question and go to Modify->Center Pivot. This will put the pivot directly in the centre of your object.

Altertnatively you can press insert when either move, rotate or scale is selected and then you can manually place it anywhere you like.

Cheers.
