Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Rendering Particles At HD 1080p

Hey forum! Need help with Maya software render. I have a scene of a solar system, there is an emitter in the middle set as Omni and it generates thousands of Cloud particles. Basically these particles are acting as the Stars etc.

Anyways the problem is when i hit render at HD 720 everything renders good, but increase the resolution to HD 1080p it does not render the particles? Any ideas/ advice would be great!

Cheers.

Ok this is weird but i switched from Maya software render to Mental Ray and rendered it at HD 1080p and it renders fine. So what the hell is happening with the software render? Is it a bug?

I might as well render it with Mental Ray, it gives better result.

That's interesting. Can you recreate the problem in a simple scene and upload it?

Maya software renderer is a big no no, it no longer get developed so its likely to be unreliable.
