Introduction to Maya - Modeling Fundamentals Vol 2
This course will look in the fundamentals of modeling in Maya with an emphasis on creating good topology. It's aimed at people that have some modeling experience in Maya but are having trouble with complex objects.

Sand Speeder issue

In the sand speeder tutorial I'm having an issue. In the video Jason selects an object and the child object and adjust the size so they shrink towards each other as if it was one object. When I try to do this it shrinks both sides separately. The specific part I am describing is in the video part (20:20 to 20:28)

I think he may be using a hot key while selecting. Can you please help me with this thank you.

I don't have the video to hand try grouping the objects after you select them ctrl + g then resize.

um there are 14 parts to that video which one of them are you in?

Okay I sat here and opened all 14 parts and went to timecode 20:20-20:28 and for the life of me I cannot find anything close to what you are talking about.

Once again can you please tell us which of the 14 video parts you are in and maybe grab a screen shot or describe the parts rather then just parent and child.

I attached a photo as a edit to that last comment. Looks pretty decent close up. But then again I only know c4d. Might be harder and diff in Maya.

I read it Dave and scratched my head in confusion and just moved on. No clue what he was talking about.

When life gets crazy, boring, or tedious, sometimes the best way to unwind is to head over to simplymaya and argue "bot or not".

Yeah, I'm presenting the storyboards for my final film tomorrow... it's midnight, I'm just gonna call it a night. Before the proverbial editing room floor gets too cluttered. Haha.

LOL like I said earlier, there are there are 14 parts to the tutorial. So go to 20 min of which part? At this point I am just curious to see what it is that confused him.

ah thanks Jay. I must have missed it when I tried to find it earlier. I went to the time code range the original poster listed in all 14 parts and could not find anything that seemed to match what he was describing. So seeing this thread pop up again got me curious.
