Complex UV Layout in Maya
Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Computer Monitor

Heres my computer monitor that Im currently working on. Its from my latest battle, but seeming I cant texture it for the battle, I decided to post the textured one up here in the WIP forums. C & C plz user added image

i wonder how you got so many views and no replies.. well i still like ituser added image.. i think you should add a cord to it though.

Yea, it just depends on when it gets posted, and who's on the boards at what time. A cord? Maybe I will add a cord to it, and just have it thrown down somewhere.

just drape the cord on it. like its not even plugged in but still on. ooo spooky.

yah it does look really good, but somehow i feel i can't see the detail real well, how bout another angle and a slightly higher res?

The textures look a little too flat on the sides at the mo. I would try and add some detail in there just to break up the big white areas.

looks good but the monitor must be a lil bit brighter...I dunno maybe it isnt possible to do that

can't you just increase the diffuse of the material to achieve that?
