Choose your object, go to File/Export Selection, then choose the .obj format user added image

Thats what i thought, but it won't work, it just gives me the option of- *.ma/*.mb/*.mov user added image but i've done it before, i've got the *.obj files to prove it, and it's Maya unlimited

Go to Window > Settings and Preferences > Plugin Manager and make sure you have the .obj exporter loaded.

maya does not export textures, but does export uvs user added image

which is quite mad considering maya is made by alias who created the obj file format..

if you have polytrans for maya though you can export texture information ( .mtl file).
