Maya for 3D Printing - Rapid Prototyping
In this course we're going to look at something a little different, creating technically accurate 3D printed parts.

Texture help!

Hello everyone,

Im new to maya and this forum so please excuse my lack of knowledge. Im using maya 2008 for a class project and im running into issues with my ground textures. They end up looking all stretched and zoomed. Heres a link the pics,

Please let me know if you have any ideas! Thanks,

You could modify the attributes of the place2Dtexture node (reachable through the hypergraph or through your material attributes) or modify the UVs of your ground mesh, via the UV texture editor. Look through the maya learning resources in the help files for an intro to UVs if you need it.

did you adjust your UVs?

its hard to tell with those screen shots because they are a bit small.

I don't see any stretching on the ground. The hardware display could be poor due to the fact that you have the texture resolution set to 256x256. As far as it looking "zoomed" in, you can either tweak UVs or increase the repeat in the texture's 2D placement node.

Thanks for the help everyone, bumped the UV repeat up to 15 and it worked out perfectly!
