An Environmet Texure Problem!

Hi everybody
i am facing a problem with maya...
i used to put a metallic texture as an Env Ball to make shiny surfaces and it was working very well,it looked perfect and when i rotate it the texture moves giving the metallic feeling
now i had to reinstall maya because of formatting but when i try using the same method i get a pale texture that does not change and has nothing to do with being metallic.
i hope you can solve my problem coz this is very important to me.
thank u
