Charactor Test

Hi all...

I'm very new to Maya & am now totally hooked!

Soon I will attempting a short animation test so I quikly set up this little guy. He has a skeletal structure and I also used Drivin Keys (SKD) to move his eyes as the top of his head rotates and translates up & down.

I hope to do some work to the animation soon and I'll post a link when its finished.

Please note: I have only been using maya now for about 2 weeks so I am still way over my head when it comes to modeling and rendering....

This is a possible final shot to the animation short....

I dont think the blood will be necessary, but just placed it here for effect...

The 16 TON weight needs some cool textures - but I still dont know how to lay them in user added image

Not to worry - I'll keep on hacking away user added image

Well actually the rig has a lower jaw and it does open & close. But at this stage his mouth is still full of fur as i dont yet know how to remove the fur from there yet ....

I think he will eventually get a tongue and pant like a dog.

hi again,

made a little progress with the model. played with the fur, added a pink mohawk, gave him a tongue & fixed up the eyes with a tutorial I found online.

note: I'm posting these images so you guys can point out what you would change... (help me learn user added image )

Looking like a fun little project!

I like him better withought mohawk.

I reckon you should end it with the weight, and the blood!!

Maybe have him moaning about some thing then splat!

Keep it up man!

I like the work you've done of After effects, need to sort my chops out on that area.

thanks for that gster123, i'll leave the mohawk for now as its bound to the rig. so after all animation is sorted i can see how it looks (can always delete it after).

and after effects is a cool litte proggy - if ya need any pointers, i'd be happy to help.... user added image

Cheers man, batteling thorugh it, i'm not to bad with PS so AE to me looked to me like flash with photoshop tools when I first opened it!!

So got on with it, I can composite stuff togther quite well, real footage and CG so i'm happy with how i'm progressing with that, just need to play about making flash animations in it, like what you've got on your site!!
