Well, my crits are kindof petty, so take them with a grain of saltuser added image hehe...

The title stated "Old Deserted Building", so I was under the stereo-typical impression that it was going to be old, dusty, rusty metals, crumbling cement or brick, with a little bit of dust haze hanging about in the air, ..that kind of thing.

But yours looks like "almost" new, as if the tennants just moved out recently.

Also were you going for that bright sunny day look? ..or were you looking for the gloomy basement kinda feel?

I ask because some of the objects as well as the joists do not have the stereo-typical "contact-shadow(s)".

Like I said, this crit was kinda petty, so ignore me, because I don't know exactly what kind of image you have in your minduser added image
hehe...

GREAT shot though!

I believe you could work on the lighting on the image.

Normally you want people to experiment or feel something when they see your image, and lighting works to achieve that feel. Right now, the image doesn´t offer much. Might want to work on it.

I did try to get light fog but i did not like the result - I even posted a thread in WIP and no-one responded)

You never know - they might be still there... bhaaahh !

Also were you going for that bright sunny day look? ..or were you looking for the gloomy basement kinda feel?

Both and as I said - I couldn't get the desired effect or if I did - you would not see most of the objects in the scene

I ask because some of the objects as well as the joists do not have the stereo-typical "contact-shadow(s)".

What do you mean bt COntact-Shadows ?

Thanks

Problem is I did - I honestly did !
... but I sometimes lose the objects when the scene is dark (and moody)

Very cool image.

Overall I think the texturing is great; I hope that I don't sound like everyone else when I say this (if I do please tell me). Again this is constructive criticism not destructive criticism; I want to build you up and not tear you down...I noticed that your sunlight has captured the glass that's leaning on the stairs; it's directly in its path; if you ever shine a light directly on glass like that, kinda like when you take a picture of your self in the mirror(but not exactly), especially at the angle that the glass is in relation to the camera, you shouldn't be able to see through it; the sunlight reflection off of the glass should create a kind of a glow that bounces off of the glass making it really difficult to even stare at, especially at this angle. All in all it is a very well textured image; Kinda reminds me of some of the crack houses in my old neighborhood, hehe; Oh! Wait a minute....I still live here....hehe...ummm...yeah...

I dont think that this matters, you need to get the mood right and then use little point lights to pick out little details that you want. Give the point lights really low intensities e.g. 0.1 or 0.2 and that should pick them out enough to be seen enough.

Scene looks great just need to sort the lighting (I know how hrd it is I spent about a week doing mine for my WIP! user added image)

This looks tons better nirsul!
Congratulations.

Wonder if the glass is reflecting a tree-leaves texture?
