Over the last couple of years UV layout in Maya has changed for the better. In this course we're going to be taking a look at some of those changes as we UV map an entire character

Slicing a bullet

I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this.

I have a bullet (revolved nurbs object) that I want to section off into like four pieces.

The four sections are going to come together to form the bullet so I need to have thickness faces. I'm thinking Boolean.

What is the best way to create these sections from the revolved object?

Thanks in advance guys.

I know this is super easy but I can't seem to get it.

How do I seperate this polygon object into two seperate objects?

I tried boolean but I end up losing one side (mabye because I already

used boolean to make it a slice of the bullet).

Just select the faces you want on one piece and use exctract in the Edit Polygons menu, that'll break it up for you, then delete the histry of the objects.
